Letters from the Community

Glastonbury voters have an opportunity every two years to support candidates who will serve our vibrant, growing town well. Anthony DiLizia is such a candidate. A Connecticut native, Anthony embodies a commitment to community. He served our country as a proud member of the US Army for six years, earning the rank of sergeant. His civilian life reflects his commitment to community as well. Anthony is the Executive Director for The Health Collective, a large community health organization here in CT. Additionally, Anthony is currently earning his Executive MBA at Yale, a program that will strengthen his already outstanding strategic leadership skills. Anthony is a co-founder of Glastonbury Pride, a now-annual event that builds upon our history as a welcoming place, and invites us to strengthen our ties in celebration. Anthony chose to make his home in Glastonbury because he recognizes what a wonderful place it is to build a family. He aims to  support our outstanding schools and nurture the welcoming environment that drew him here. I have no doubt that Anthony has the tenacity, clarity of mind and energy required to serve on Town Council, and encourage you to give him your vote on November 4th.

Deb Carroll

Former Democratic Majority Leader

Glastonbury Town Council

     -To The Editor:

Election Day is around the corner and Glastonbury residents have an important decision when voting on candidates who will represent our town for the next two years.  Glastonbury Democrats have done a terrific job on Town Council and Board of Education steering our town with a steady hand towards fiscal responsibility and education excellence.  The Town Council expanded downtown village districts, passed an inclusionary zoning ordinance that supports affordable housing, and enacted budgets that are fiscally responsible while maintaining town services.  The Board of Education continues to provide our children with an education that is amongst the best school systems.

I wholeheartedly support the election of the 2025 Democratic Town Council and Board of Education candidates.  Please vote Row A on November 4th.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Laura Cahill

         -To the Editor:

On November 4th, Glastonbury voters will decide who will lead our town for next two years. We are proud of the many accomplishments that the Democratic majorities on the Town Council and Board of Education have delivered in a collaborative and responsible manner. With your input, our leaders have carefully managed taxpayer dollars, pursued grant funding and made the best fiscal decisions to support education, infrastructure, strategic land acquisition, recreation, affordable housing options, and mental health initiatives.

While there will always be challenges, our elected Democrats have consistently demonstrated the ability to listen, explore options, compromise, work with all involved and support the best solutions. We are proud to have many of our experienced leaders running for another term. Mary LaChance, Larry Niland, Tom Gullotta, Corey Turner and Jen Wang are asking for your vote for another term on the Town Council. They are joined by Anthony DiLizia who is running for the first time. Doug Foyle and Dave Peniston are running for reelection to the Board of Education as they and their colleagues strive to provide the best opportunities for every student.

Please learn more about our outstanding candidates at www.glastonburydems.com. Our headquarters, located at 2341 Main Street, will be open after Labor Day. Please stop by on Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 to learn more about our candidates and the issues. Most importantly, we encourage you to follow the local election events and to Vote Line A during the early voting period or on 11/4. Your vote counts and will determine our future.

Sincerely,

Susan Karp and Julie Thompson
