Zelda Lessne
Registrar of Voters
ELECTED ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006

Zelda Lessne represents the best of Glastonbury public service. She assists people at every opportunity--whether they are new voters registering for the first time or they are voters seeking information. Friendly, competent, organized are only a few words that describe her. She serves Glastonbury well as Registrar of Voters.

Thomas Kehoe
State Representative for the 31st District
Tom was a dedicated member of the Town Council for two terms and is now the Representative for the 31st District in the State Legislature. He assumed his position on January 3, 2007.

He has lived in Glastonbury for 20 years, has five children who have gone through the Glastonbury Public Schools, and is currently a state representative, businessman, attorney, and active environmentalist. He serves on the Finance and Energy Committees at the State Legislature and was instrumental in the increase in the Education Cost Sharing (ECS)that came to Glastonbury in 2007. An additional $2 Million was returned to Glastonbury since he joined the State Legislature and another $800,000 will be added again this year.

He brings integrity, energy, and vision to the office. He represents every Glastonbury citizen in the 31st District. Tom is running for Re-Election in 2008 and needs your vote on November 4.

Barbara Wagner
Town Council
Barbara Wagner, a 32 year Resident of Glastonbury, is an attorney with a law office in Glastonbury, specializing in commercial and residential real estate. She is the Minority Leader of the Town Council, originally appointed in 2000 and subsequently re-elected again in 2001-2005. Barbara was the co-Founder and Acting Chair of the Town Center Initiative, promoting a lively Town Center. She was appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell to the Council on Environmental Quality and is a member of the. Board of Trustees, Diamond Lake Land Trust, Council Liaison, and Great Pond Stewardship Committee.

Carolyn Treiss
Town Council
Carolyn Treiss, who seeks her second term on the Town Council, is Chief of Staff to the Commissioner of the State Office of Health Access. She is a graduate of Bates College and the University of Connecticut Schools of Law and Social Work. Carolyn has had experience in state level politics for the past 10 years, previously working as an advocate for non-profit organizations in the State Legislature. She serves on the Board of the Women’s Education and Legal Fund. She is a native of Glastonbury and graduate of Glastonbury Public Schools and returned to Glastonbury to raise her family. Carolyn and husband James and son Will, now age three, live in the Hubbard Street home that formerly belonged to her grandparent’s.

Tim Coon
Town Council Member
Tim Coon was elected to the Glastonbury Town Council on November 6, 2007. He has been the Curriculum Manager for the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council for 10 years. He left that position to serve in the Iraq War and has just returned to Connecticut and rejoined his family after 15 months of active duty.

He was a member of the Glastonbury Board of Education for four years prior to his departure for Iraq. Tim states, “My goal is to listen to the community and use my experience in all areas of government to enhance the efficiency of all our Town Departments. We need to continually improve the excellent quality of life we have here in Glastonbury.”

Tim also holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Connecticut, a Teaching Certificate in History/English from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Hartford. He has worked in government on local, State and federal levels and has experience in almost all the major areas of local government. He grew up in Coventry and has lived in Glastonbury for 12 years with his wife Pam and two daughters, Caitlin and Meredith .



Kristi Vitelli
Board of Education Member
We are very fortunate to have Kristine Vitelli, who replaced Elizabeth Rogan when she relocated to Atlanta. Her term will end in 2009.

Kristi is an attorney and the mother of an elementary daughter. She has been President of Eastbury PTO and very active in Glastonbury community programs.

Peter Alter
Judge of Probate
RE-ELECTED ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006

Judge Peter Alter is no part time judge. He puts in real hours, every working day. In 2005, he saw 313 cases, closed 240 pending cases and presided over 230 hearings. The results? No backlog. A more efficient, more accessible court. Friendly, helpful clerks. A court where every voice is heard. A judge who understands the law and makes it work for people. That is the kind of experience that matters!

On November 7, Glastonbury voters chose compassion, commitment, fairness and experience by re-electing Judge Peter Alter.

Lisa Furbush
Board of Education Member
Lisa Furbush was elected to her first term on the Glastonbury Board Education on November 6, 2007. She is the Executive Office Manager of JRH Asset Management in Hartford, which manages and budgets for multi-million dollar properties in Connecticut and the Southeast belt. She was previously a Religion teacher at Mercy High School in Middletown.

Lisa is currently a doctoral student in Hartford Seminary and the head volleyball coach for St. Joseph’s College. She is the secretary of Glen Lochen II Condo Association in Glastonbury. She states, “I ran for the Board of Education to help find a balance which will ensure our children’s future while addressing budget issues that are the reality of every school district."

Lisa is the director/coordinator for the high school student visits to the Nation's Capital with the assistance of Congressman John Larson.
