Glastonbury Democrats are proud to endorse our candidates

Glastonbury Democrats are proud to endorse an outstanding group of leaders for election to municipal office on November 7th, 2023. Deb Carroll, Tom Gullotta, Mary LaChance, Jake McChesney, Larry Niland and Jen Wang are seeking re-election. They have worked collaboratively to responsibly manage your tax dollars while improving our community, maintaining our infrastructure and planning for our future. While the difficult issues of affordable housing, inclusionary zoning and the future of the town center will continue to be discussed, the Democratic Town Council members will listen and carefully guide our town. Their diverse experience, involvement in the community, inclusive approach and strong commitment to all residents will continue to ensure that Glastonbury is a great place to live, work, raise a family and enjoy our many wonderful resources.

Glastonbury Public Schools continue to receive accolades for outstanding academic offerings, welcoming school climate, athletics and safety. Alison Couture, Matt Saunig, and Julie Thompson will ask for your vote to continue to provide the best opportunities for every student as they pursue their future goals. From the new STEAM Lab and improved athletic facilities to carefully managed budgets and the best staff, we are confident that GPS will continue to be a leader in education with their guidance. As the needs of our students change at every level, Alison, Matt and Julie will carefully consider options and new initiatives. They recognize that when a student is supported in all aspects of their development, they learn best.

We are also proud to endorse Kevin Graff for the Board of Finance. Kevin recently joined the Board and has shared his extensive knowledge of town budgeting and best financial practices. His past service on the Town Council is critical to the best decision making.

Glastonbury Democrats are also pleased to endorse:

  • Board of Assessment Appeals - Paul Hopkins and Terence Sexton

  • Zoning Board of Appeals - Brian Smith

  • Zoning Board of Appeals Alternates - Aaron White and Elizabeth Cafarella

  • Board of Fire Commissioners - Steven Bemer

We ask all residents to learn about the many successes that have shaped our town and to engage with our candidates as we plan for the best future together. Most importantly, don't forget to vote on November 7th!

The Democrats on Town Council and Board of Education, along with our Democratic State Reps Jill Barry and Jason Doucette, proudly celebrated the grand opening of the splash pad at Addison Pool at the beginning of the 2022 season. The splash pad was made possible by a successful partnership between the Town of Glastonbury and the Glastonbury Rotary Club.
